Welcome!

June 2005: This Page is no longer updated. We have now a new hompage offering many services and up to date information. Please visit our new page:
New CBRG homepage

This server offers many free and helpful services and tools for Computational Biologists, Biochemists, and Molecular Evolutionists. Students will also find links here for course related material and information.

What services does the CBRG server provide?

Services Offered: The CBRG offers a wide range of biological computing services to the public including:

  • Searching our All against All sequence related peptide database derived from SwissProt
  • Search SwissProt for/with
    • Nucleotide sequences or
    • Peptide sequences
    • Masses of Protein fragments after N- or C- Terminal Digestion
  • Calculating Multiple Sequence Alignments with your data (using the method of your choice)
  • Phylogeny Estimation and Tree Generation
  • Searching SwissProt or EMBL by protein mass after digestion
  • Calculate Possible Ancestral Sequences
  • Resolve Vertex Cover conflicts

among a host of other services. These computations are executed through our server using the Interpreted Programming Language DARWIN

Take me to the Darwin page

Darwin: Data Analysis and Retrieval With Indexed Nucleotide/peptide sequences. DARWIN is our main tool for analysis. It is an interpreted programming language for computational biochemistry and is offered free.

  • What is DARWIN? What does DARWIN offer?
  • How can I get DARWIN?
  • DARWIN basic support on information (mailing list, listserv/news group, FAQ, online manual, tutorial, etc.)

Large scale distributed processing of molecular data

Process Support System for Molecular Sequence Analysis.

BioOpera is a joint project between the Information and Communication Systems and the CBRG. Our goal is to improve and automatize large scale analysis of genetic data sets.
